Professor Greg Murray

Professor Greg Murray, PhD, FAPS, is Director of the Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences at Swinburne University, Melbourne. A registered Clinical Psychologist, he is internationally recognised for his research in bipolar disorders, circadian rhythms, and personality, ranking in the top 1% worldwide in these fields (Expertscape). Since earning his PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2001, Professor Murray has published over 230 papers cited more than 1,000 times annually. He has led over $31 million in national and international research funding and currently directs a five-year Wellcome Trust project exploring sleep and circadian disruption as predictors of bipolar disorder relapse. His chronobiology work has shaped clinical guidelines and major expert reports, including contributions to the DSM-5-TR and Wellcome Trust initiatives.
