Tipping Point Project Update

Tipping Point Project Newsletter March Update

World Bipolar Day – 30 March 2026

Each year on the 30th March, we observe World Bipolar Day (WBD). This date was chosen as it marks the birthday of the artist Vincent van Gogh.

WBD aims to raise awareness of bipolar disorder and reduce stigma by promoting international collaboration among people with lived and living experience, supporters, researchers, clinicians and collaborators.

This year, our Chief Investigator, Professor Greg Murray (Swinburne University of Technology), was invited to sit on a panel at the Bipolar Life World Bipolar Day event. The event was a great success, with attendees from a wide range of backgrounds. Other panelists included Professor Sue Cotton (Monash University and CORE-BD), Dr Emma Morton (Monash University) and Associate Professor Aswin Ratheesh (UNSW).

New Zealand and India Projects

Our colleagues in New Zealand and India are now running their projects, which together form a complete work package under our overall Wellcome Trust Grant. These projects have been underway since late last year, and we look forward to continuing to work with you all and to seeing the outcomes of your efforts.

Several project-level papers will be published in due course. If you would like to read more specifically about how the three projects interrelate, you can access the protocol here:

Thank you also to our new collaborators and supporters in helping us getting the word out there about the project- your support is greatly valued.
